Tributes Flow for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.

More than two weeks following the shocking loss of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues continue to honor the duo.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt ready to express about his personal sorrow.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can at last express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced spending more time together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, remarking that he cannot recall "one day without joy".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Values that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes continued.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he grasped the human predicament of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to prevent the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate placed a restriction on the files to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" connected to the ongoing investigation.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a public database citing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Aftermath and Reactions

In the wake of the deaths, public figures shared divergent responses.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, offering controversial statements that were met with immediate backlash by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the critics recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan labeled the statements as "disturbing" and remarked they revealed a troubling absence of compassion.

Rogan ended by suggesting that an aide ought to have stepped in when the decision to weigh in on the passing was made.
