Top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka Wins Consecutive WTA Player of the Year Accolades.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second successive season.
The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.
A Year of High Performance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine championship matches, with defeats coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Historic Numbers
Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a 63-12 win-loss record, and earned a record £11m in prize money.
She earned nearly eighty percent of the votes cast by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a higher level".

- Comeback Player of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, was voted after taking 13-month break following the arrival of her daughter and making her comeback to the sport at the start of this year.
- Fresh Face of the Year: Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko was honored with the award after beginning the season ranked beyond the world's top 300 and soaring to the eighteenth spot.
- Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were selected after securing their second career Grand Slam title together.
- Biggest Leap of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after advancing to five championship matches.
Recently, Carlos Alcaraz won three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, including the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as the fan favorite for a third time.
