Law enforcement probing a report of suspected fire-setting at a Islamic center in the region have released images of two people they are seeking to locate.

Fire crews were dispatched to the religious building on the street in the community at approximately 21:50 BST on the weekend.

Although not a single person was hurt in the event, the main doorway of the structure and a car left in the vicinity were impacted as stated by investigators, who are investigating it as a hate crime.

Tariq Jung, chair of Brighton and Hove Muslim Forum, said the community was "extremely disturbed and appalled" by the situations in the two areas.

He noted that, regardless of whether attendees were of Jewish faith, Christian, Hindu worshippers or Islamic faithful, the "last thing" they should anticipate was that an individual would try to harm them.

"I hope community representatives and others in the community will come together to work towards calm," he expressed to local media.

"We've got to... support each other at this period of significant necessity."

Campaign group the anti-racism organization said the situation had not arisen out of a "void".

"During the past several weeks currently, biased organizations... have been stirring up an atmosphere of animosity and coercion against individuals of color throughout the coastal region with flags, decals and biased markings," it said.

Chris Ward, legislator for the district, called the incident on the mosque "appalling".

He commented: "It is fortunate that there were no harm is only accidental.

"Such aggression and animosity has no place in our calm, accepting local community. Authorities will root it out and we support with all affected."

The council leader, chair of the local authority, added Muslims in the area had the "complete assistance and unity" of the council.

"Rest assured, we support fully with the community," she expressed.
