British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the boxing community had expressed condolences for the star in the following the terrible crash.
