Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official statement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed based on standard procedures and all passengers, among them Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer said in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This occurrence does not mark the first time that a US military aircraft ferrying a top government figure has experienced mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was forced to turn back to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical fault.
